       Itinerary / Offer

 

  • Day 1 : Arrival Bangalore, transfer to the hotel in Vellore

 

  • Day 2 : Early in the morning you will see the salient golden Temple of 'Sripuram' and the Lakshmi Narayani Temple, the deity Sri Lakshmi Narayani (wife of Vishnu Narayana). In Vellore there is a fortress from the 16th century, which is surrounded by a moat. In the Fort you will see the Jalagandeswarar Temple from the time of Vijayanagar, the ruler of the city.

  • Day 3 : Drive to Mahabalipuram, in the afternoon you can relax at the Beach

​

  • Day 4 : Mahabalipuram. Directly at the beach is the Sea-Shore-Temple(8th century). It is one the oldest freestanding Stonetemple of South India. You will visit the Five Rathas, a group of five monolithic temples. The descent of Ganga (maybe the biggest) Rock relief of the world. "Butterball Krishnas", a giant Rockball lying on a slope.

 

  • Day 5 : On the way to Tiruvanmalai there will be a stop in Kanchipuram, one of the oldest cities in South India. It is one of the seven sacred places of Hinduism; and is an important pilgrimage site, in which Shiva and Vishnu equally are worshiped.

​

  • Day 6 : In Tiruvanmalai is the mighty Arunachaleswara Temple - one of the largest in South India.

​

  • Day 7 : You will hike the 14 km long spiritual path around the legendary and holy mountain Arunachala.

​

  • Day 8 : On your way to Pondycherry there will be Auroville,  the model city for an utopian living, and Consciousness experiment.

​

  • Day 9 : The riksha-ride through the French Quarter of Pondycherry.  You will visit the Basilica of Sacred Heart, the Ganesha Temple and the Sri Aurobindo House.

​

  • Day 10: Drive to Vaiteeswaran Kovil. On the way you will see the towering attraction of Chidambaram. It is the Nataraja Temple and dedicated to God Shiva in his Apparition as Nataraja ("King of     Dance"), and applies next to the temples in Tiruvannamalai, Madurai and Srirangam, as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and all India.

  • Day 11: Vaitheeswaran Kovil is a very sacred place. The        Temple water is said to be able to cure skin diseasesNadi Astrology is a form of Hindu Astrology. It is based on the belief that the past, present and the future life of all People from the sages of Hindus in antiquity were foreseen.

 

  • Day 12: You stop in Kumbakonam, the "temple town". The myth says, that the pot(kumbha) with the Potion of Immortality (Amrita) was washed away from the mount meru and landed in Kumbakonam. Lord Shiva then shot an arrow, destroyed the vessel and formed out of the broken pieces a linga (sign of Shiva) that you can find in the Kumbareshwara Temple. The Place where the immortality potion flowed is the temple pond.

​

  • Day 13: You Continue to Thanjavur. After the arrival in the afternoon you can explore the city on your own.

 

  • Day 14: Thanjavur is famous for the Brihadishvara Temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The building is considered the pinnacle of medieval architecture and is one of three "Great Temples of the Chola Dynasty" a UNESCO World culture Heritage.

 

  • Day 15: The Rock Fort, is a fortress on a steep 83 m high rock. At its bottom the old town of Tiruchirappalli extends. The Thayumanavaswami Temple there is consecrated to the Lord Shiva. You can find it halfway up the cliff. It belongs to the holy places of Shaivism. The peak of the rock known as the Uchi Pillayar Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. When you hike up the 437 stairs to the summit you will get a great view of Tiruchirappalli and the temple of Srirangam.

​

  • Day 16: Chettinadu - You will get a ride with  bullock cart through the picturesque and sleepy Chettinad, what is known for its mansions from the 19th century.

 

  • Day 17: Today we go to Madurai with a stop at the jasmine market. Afterwards will be a tour through the Tirumalai Nayak Palace. You will be driven by a Riksha across Madurai with a stop at the banana market and at the end of the day you will see a traditional ceremony in the Meenakshi Temple.

 

  • Day 18: Drive to Periyar - you will see a Karthakali dance and Marshall art performance in the evening.

 

  • Day 19: Elephant riding and showering. You will be guided to a spice plantation and take a boat trip on the lake.

 

  • Day 20: Visit the city of Kochi and St. Francis Church, the oldest european church Indias. Further will you see the Mattancherry      Palace, and the Synygoge of Kochi.

 

  • Day 21: Flight to Germany
